UX/ Interaction Design Intern

December 2013– April 2014 (5 months) Bangalore, India

Tata Elxsi introduced me to functional and user-centered aspects of design. As an intern/ trainee it was an extremely learning period. I was introduced to methodologies of user experience research which was very helpful to capture user needs. I was also introduced to modes of competitor study like benchmarking, expert reviewing, and competitive analysis.

Further, I learned interaction design- understanding different environments and user requirements, building environment hierarchy, information architecture, interaction models, navigation workflows and wire-framing concepts. Since I have an understanding and a background in Graphics Design, I also explored visual design concepts.

Finally, I did my graduation project over here titled "To design an experience for Tata Elxsi to showcase its design capabilities to its clients." I designed an intuitive portfolio platform over iOs that lets the company to showcase its design capabilities as portfolios and also enable the user to manage the projects and its contents according to the client requirements. The on-device storage and cloud servers worked smartly together to manage projects over the platform.

All together this project was the product of all the leanings I gained in Tata Elxsi. It was a small project but was very helpful to test my learning. Also, it opened doors for exploring user experience design and getting prepared for future challenges.

June 2013 – August 2013 (3 months) Bangalore, India

My first internship which introduced me to deeper aspects of building identity, creating a brand language and conceptualizing the language to a visual identity for the brand. Also helped me to enhance my graphics design skills and building an understanding (relation and correlation) of the level of information and visually treating them into an info-graphics. Overall, a very good learning experience in a very short period of time.
